Saying Farewell
/
We’re in a strange world right now.
When a dear friend falls ill and you plan to go and see him – but right as you are about to go, visitors are wisely barred as the pandemic grows.
And then, he passes away.
An in-person memorial service is planned in Texas.
The pandemic grows.
A hybrid event of in-person and online features is planned.
The pandemic grows.
The whole event is moved online. But what does an online memorial look like? How can it be put together?
I was asked by Al Worden’s family to be one small part of a much larger team working out how to create such an event. And today, on YouTube, it happened. It’s replayable if you missed it and would like to see it. A celebration of life for Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden.
It speaks of hope, of a life well lived, of lessons we can all learn from, and forward actions we can take to honor his legacy.
We can but hope to be remembered so well.
